* feat(web): add built-in Nerd Font for terminal icon support
Add MesloLGLDZ Nerd Font as a built-in web font to ensure Powerlevel10k
and other Nerd Font-dependent prompts render correctly in the web terminal,
even on devices without local Nerd Fonts installed (e.g., mobile phones).
Changes:
- Add MesloLGLDZNerdFontMono-Regular.woff2 to web/public/fonts/
- Load font via FontFace API with BASE_URL support for subpath deployments
- Merge font loading and terminal creation in same useEffect to ensure
font is ready before terminal renders
Fixes#121

* refactor: use CDN for Nerd Font instead of bundled file
Load MesloLGLDZ Nerd Font from jsDelivr CDN instead of bundling the 1.2MB
font file. This reduces the bundle size significantly while still ensuring
Nerd Font icons display correctly on all devices.
CDN URL: https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/mshaugh/nerdfont-webfonts@v3.3.0/build/fonts/MesloLGLDZNerdFontMono-Regular.woff2

* fix(web): prevent message ordering issues when switching sessions
When switching between sessions or loading paginated messages, old tool
blocks from agentState.requests were being mixed with current messages,
causing display order issues.
Root cause: reduceChatBlocks creates tool blocks for all permissions in
agentState, including those older than the current message page. These
old blocks (with earlier createdAt) would appear mixed with newer messages.
Fix:
1. In reducer.ts: Skip creating permission-only tool blocks if their
createdAt is older than the oldest message in the current view
2. In SessionChat.tsx: Clear caches synchronously in useMemo when session
changes, since useEffect runs after render

- Add ReconnectingBanner component to show "Reconnecting..." status
- Track SSE connection state in App.tsx with onDisconnect handler
- Add onBlocked callback to useSendMessage for handling blocked send attempts
- Provide haptic feedback when send is blocked due to no API or session
- Show toast notification when message cannot be sent due to server disconnection
- Add translation keys for reconnecting message and send blocked feedback in en/zh-CN
close#125
- Add Settings > Display > Font Size selector (80/90/100/110/120%)
- Persist preference (hapi-font-scale) and apply globally via --app-font-scale
- Normalize main UI typography to match Settings
Move getInputString, getInputStringAny, and truncate functions from
individual ToolCard components into a dedicated toolInputUtils module
to eliminate duplication across PermissionFooter, ToolCard, and
knownTools components.
Add ability to resume inactive sessions and automatically continue with new
session ID. Includes message merging for preserving conversation history,
UI improvements to allow sending during inactive state, and database schema
migration. close#87
Implement full support for the request_user_input tool with both Web UI and CLI
components. This includes:
- New view and footer components for request_user_input tool UI
- Tool registration in knownTools and view registries
- Nested answer format support (Record<string, { answers: string[] }>)
- Backward compatibility with flat answer format (Record<string, string[]>)
- Permission handler updates for CLI request_user_input acceptance
- Type definitions and schema updates across shared/cli/server/web packages
- Translation strings for request_user_input UI elements
- Conditional footer rendering in ToolCard for question tools
Move duplicate isObject, asString, asNumber, and safeStringify functions from multiple modules into a centralized shared/src/utils.ts module and update imports across cli, server, and web packages. This eliminates code duplication and improves maintainability.
Add a new ModelSelector component that allows users to choose specific model variants for different AI agents. This includes:
- ModelSelector UI component with agent-specific model options
- Model parameter propagation through API, RPC, and spawning layers
- Support for auto model selection (default behavior)
- Localization strings for English and Chinese
- Type definitions for model options per agent
Codex elicitation requests from MCP use the 'message' field (from
ElicitRequest schema), not 'command' or 'cwd'. Update the permission
handler to extract and pass this field, and display it as the card
subtitle with fallback to command.
Adds onRequest and onComplete callbacks to CodexPermissionHandler to track
permission request/response lifecycle. Includes helper functions to normalize
command and cwd inputs, and displays permission requests in the web UI.
Codex API sends 'shell_command' as the tool name for bash commands, but
the web app didn't recognize it, falling back to a generic wrench icon.
This adds proper presentation with a terminal icon, matching Claude's
Bash tool display.
Parse the "Exit code: X\nWall time: Y\nOutput:\n..." format from bash tool
results and display metadata (exit code and wall time) separately from the
output content as a code block.
- Updated useLongPress.ts to pass click coordinates to onLongPress callback
- Modified SessionList.tsx to use menuAnchorPoint state instead of menuAnchorRef
- Updated SessionActionMenu.tsx to position menu based on anchorPoint coordinates
- Enhanced SessionHeader.tsx to calculate anchorPoint from button position and added stopPropagation to fix toggle issue
The menu now appears at the exact touch/click position instead of being centered or aligned to the button edge.
The IntersectionObserver's useEffect had handleLoadMore in its dependency
array, but handleLoadMore depended on isLoadingMoreMessages. When loading
completed, isLoadingMoreMessages changed, causing handleLoadMore to be
recreated and the observer to rebuild, immediately firing again and
triggering continuous load requests.
Fixed by storing handleLoadMore in a ref and removing it from the
IntersectionObserver's dependency array, allowing it to rebuild only when
hasMoreMessages or isLoadingMessages change.
Implement a visibility-aware notification system that delivers toast messages via SSE to visible browser tabs instead of sending push notifications, reducing unnecessary push requests. Includes VisibilityTracker for monitoring connection visibility, toast UI components, and enhanced SSEManager with toast delivery capability.
Introduces a new message-window-store module to manage message state with
automatic windowing of visible and pending messages. This replaces manual
React Query cache operations with a centralized, observable state system.
close#39
Key changes:
- New MessageWindowState tracks visible/pending messages with size limits
- Automatic trimming of message windows (400 visible, 200 pending messages)
- Pending message buffering when user scrolls away from bottom
- Centralized status updates for optimistic messages
- Thread component simplified with forwarded scroll and pending callbacks
- Removes message count tracking from components
This improves performance for chats with many messages and provides a
cleaner separation of concerns between UI and state management.
Reorganizes the LoginPrompt layout by moving the Server button from an
absolute-positioned top-right corner into the main content flow as a text
link in a new "Help links" section below the login form. Also adds a
"Needs help?" link pointing to the documentation. This reduces visual
clutter, improves hierarchy by grouping related actions, and provides
better guidance for new users.
- Update subtitle to official slogan "Vibe Coding Anytime, Anywhere"
- Simplify input placeholder to "Access token"
- Remove verbose help text below the input field
- Move server settings from top-right corner to footer below form
- Add "Needs help?" link to docs (https://hapi.run/docs)
- Add underline styling to both help and server links for better affordance
- Add footer with copyright and Vibe Coding message
Extract permission mode display logic into shared utilities for better reusability and maintainability. Add PermissionModeTone type and related helpers to centralize mode-based styling rules across components. Update components to use new PermissionModeOption type for consistent permission mode presentation.
Add close button to Chrome/Edge install prompt and respect dismissed state
when determining if prompt can be shown. iOS version already had dismiss
capability, so this brings feature parity across all supported browsers.
Implements comprehensive session lifecycle management with user-friendly interactions:
Rename: Update session metadata.name via PATCH endpoint with conflict detection
Archive: Abort active sessions via DELETE endpoint with validation
Delete: Permanently remove inactive sessions with cascade cleanup
Backend:
- Store.deleteSession() removes session and cascade-deletes messages
- SyncEngine.renameSession() with concurrency error handling
- SyncEngine.deleteSession() with active session validation
- PATCH /sessions/:id for rename, DELETE /sessions/:id for delete
Frontend Components:
- RenameSessionDialog: Text input with auto-focus and error display
- SessionActionMenu: Modal with rename, archive, delete buttons
- ConfirmDialog: Reusable confirmation with error feedback
- SessionHeader: Menu button (⋮) triggering action menu
- SessionList: Long-press detection triggering item actions
Interactions:
- Long-press on session list items (500ms threshold) opens action menu
- Menu button in session header (non-Telegram environments only)
- Confirmation dialogs with descriptive warnings for destructive actions
- Real-time error display in dialogs on operation failure
- Haptic feedback on long-press via usePlatform hook
Accessibility:
- Keyboard support (Enter/Space) for long-press handler
- Focus management in RenameSessionDialog
- Proper ARIA labels and semantic HTML
Implement namespace support across sessions, machines, and users for multi-user server deployments. Add access control with specific error reasons (namespace-missing, access-denied, not-found) and database schema updates with namespace columns and indexes.
* feat(web): add session list grouping by project directory
- Group sessions by project path with collapsible sections
- Sort groups by active status first, then by latest update time
- Sort sessions within each group by update time (descending)
- Add visual indicators for groups with active sessions
- Display project count in header statistics
